December 4 （ Wed ） to 10 （ Tue ） is Human Rights Week

It's not about "someone else."
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, in order to create a peaceful world where fundamental human rights are respected. The Ministry of Justice and the National Federation of Human Rights Commissioners have designated the period from December 4 to 10 as Human Rights Week since the year following the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and have been carrying out educational activities with special emphasis nationwide to promote ・ the spread and elevate the idea of respect for human rights.
The city will hold street awareness campaigns and panel displays. In addition, a special human rights counseling center will be open on weekdays during Human Rights Week at the Sakura Branch Office of the Chiba District Legal Affairs Bureau. For more information, please visit the following URL

North Korea Human Rights Violation Awareness Week 12 May 10 （ Tue ） - 16 Dec （ Mon ）
With the aim of deepening public awareness of the issue of human rights abuses by the North Korean authorities, as well as to clarify the actual situation of human rights abuses by the North Korean authorities in cooperation with the international community, and to deter such abuses, in June 2006, the "Abduction Issue In June 2006, the "Law Concerning Measures to Deal with the Abduction Issue and Other Human Rights Violations by the North Korean Authorities" was enacted and the "North Korea Human Rights Violations Awareness Week" was established. With the resolution of the abduction issue and other human rights violations by the North Korean authorities being considered an issue that should be addressed by the international community as a whole, it is important to deepen interest in and awareness of this issue.
